The radio-trekking expedition along the Santa Barbara Mining Trail (CMSB) reaches its eighteenth milestone! On Sunday, October 18, 2026, operator Alex 165DA101, alongside mascot Giacomino and operating with the essential support of the white Fiat Panda 169 4×4, will set up a field portable station near one of the most suggestive historical landmarks in the Sulcis area: the ancient Church of Sant’Elia di Tattinu.
🗺️ The Route: From Nuxis to Santadi through Faith and Archaeology
Inspired by the official eighteenth stage connecting Nuxis to Santadi, this route travels through rolling hills, lush vineyards, and sites rich in ancient history, medieval worship, and archaeological heritage. For this field portable activation, the station will deploy near the historic countryside church of Sant’Elia di Tattinu in the territory of Nuxis. With the white Fiat Panda 169 4×4 carrying the antennas, cables, and power units, the team will establish an optimal portable QTH in this serene and historic valley.
