📻 165DA/CMSB16 – Conquering Punta Mareddu: High-Altitude Portable DX from Orbai to Rosas! ⛰️🌲📡
The radio-trekking adventure along the Santa Barbara Mining Trail (CMSB) enters its second half with full throttle! For the sixteenth stage, scheduled for Monday, October 5, 2026, operator Alex 165DA101, accompanied by his faithful mascot Giacomino and aboard the inseparable white Fiat Panda 169 4×4, will head into the scenic and historical landscape connecting Orbai to Rosas.
🗺️ The Route: From Orbai to Rosas across Mining History
Inspired by the official sixteenth stage of the CMSB, this leg links two important mining sites rich in industrial archaeology and classical heritage, winding through dirt roads, mule tracks, and trails immersed in lush Mediterranean scrub. For this portable field activation, the station will scale the heights to position itself right on top of Punta Mareddu at an altitude of 570 meters. Operating in a portable configuration from this commanding viewpoint, the white Fiat Panda 169 4×4 will once again provide seamless off-road support to reach the summit.
