“In the Shade of Ancient Millennial Olive Trees: Alex 165DA101 and Giacomino Sign Stage 10 of the CMSB at San Sisinnio Park!”

The radio-trekking adventure along the Santa Barbara Mining Trail (CMSB) does not stop, taking another extraordinary step into the beating heart of mountainous Sardinia. Leaving the Staircase of San Simeone behind, my trusty penguin companion Giacomino and I are ready to fire up our rigs for Stage 10, scheduled for September 8th, 2026, starting STAY TUNED UTC.

For this unmissable portable session, our trusty white Panda 169 4×4 will lead us to a location of inestimable natural and spiritual value: we will position ourselves in the immediate vicinity of the suggestive San Sisinnio Park, in the municipal territory of Villacidro (Cadastral Code: L924; reference geographical coordinates: 39.42395, 8.73266).

🗺️ The Route and the Natural Setting

The official tenth stage of the trail connects Villacidro to the splendid woodland area of Monti Mannu, immersing hikers in a landscape dominated by towering peaks, streams, and lush vegetation. San Sisinnio Park, situated at the edge of the valley, is famous throughout the island for the presence of majestic millennial olive trees (sa tancara) and the rural church of the same name, which guards a centuries-old and deeply felt popular festival.

Activating reference 165DA/CMSB10 from this green oasis of peace and sacredness represents a unique thrill for us, blending respect for the natural environment with our timeless passion for radio and DX.

As always, we will use the Panda 4×4 as a mobile station and logistical base to set up our Skypper antenna. We look forward to seeing many of you in the 11-meter pile-up to collect another precious piece of this extraordinary traveling award.
