The team will hike up the steep trails of the Macizo del Caroig to reach the ridge of Peñas Pardas. In this isolated and wild environment, they will deploy a lightweight but highly efficient single-element Delta Loop antenna and set up a field station (/P) operating right next to the historic site.

This is not just another reference to tick off your list. This activation carries a profound historical weight. By setting up our field station in the immediate vicinity of the Monumento a los fallecidos en el incendio de Millares de 1994, our team will bridge the gap between amateur radio, natural beauty, and historical memory.
🌲 The Story Behind the Site: On July 4, 1994, a devastating forest fire swept through these very mountains, consuming over 25,000 hectares of pristine woodland. In this exact spot on the Peñas Pardas ridge, a sudden shift in the wind trapped and claimed the lives of seven brave individuals—five forestry brigade workers, a local councilor, and a brave volunteer citizen. They made the ultimate sacrifice while defending their homeland and nature from the flames.
Operating from this specific ridge allows us to honor their memory. While the WBA (World Beauties Award) celebrates the breathtaking, wild beauty of the Muela de Cortes landscapes, our radio signals will also carry a message of respect, remembrance, and gratitude across the globe. The stone monolith standing on this windy peak is a stark reminder of human bravery and the fragile majesty of our planet.
