📊 LOG STATISTICAL ANALYSIS (119 QSOs Logged) 📈

The in-depth analysis of the electronic logbook confirms the massive success of the operation, showcasing a highly international turnout of hunters:

• 🌍 Breakdown by Continents:
  • Europe: The absolute protagonist of the activation, with the vast majority of contacts spread across France (Prefix 14), Germany (Prefix 13), Italy (Prefix 1), Poland (Prefix 161), and the United Kingdom (Prefix 26).
  • South America: Excellent and steady footprint with beautiful contacts logged, most notably Brazil (Prefix 3) featuring legendary stations such as 3AT133 Lio, 3AT303 Renato, 3AT59 Valdecyr, and 3DA1 Tulio.
  • Oceania: An extraordinary and historic Long-Path/DX contact was successfully established with Indonesia (Prefix 91), thanks to station 91AT109 Agus making it into the log with a rock-solid 5/5 report. Station 91AT777 Hakiem was also successfully logged.
  • Asia: Great catch with station 153DA102 Lars (Thailand), who made it through with a 3/1 report during a sudden drop in propagation.
• ⚡ Signals and Propagation Conditions (RST):
  • The first half of the activation enjoyed “booming” propagation, netting maximum 5/9 signal reports across dozens of European stations.
  • Among the most remarkable highlights was a breathtaking, pin-dropping signal (solid 5/9) from Brian (93DA101) in Malta, who popped up out of nowhere in a dead-silent band.
  • Worth noting was the QSO with Maciek (329/161AT154); despite the heavy tree canopy screening Sylvester’s position, he made it into the log with a granite-hard 5/5 operating from high up in the mountains.
  • In the second half, a vertical collapse of propagation heavily tested the operator’s “ears,” yet excellent contacts were still rescued from right above the noise floor (QRM/QRN), such as the 5/4 copy on Leif (47DX54) from Denmark.

🌲 FIELD OPERATIONS REPORT 🌲

The activation turned out to be a true radio adventure in pure Field Day style, entirely contained within a protected Natura 2000 nature reserve. Access to the island was secured by crossing a striking, historic suspension bridge hanging about 20-22 meters above the water level. 🌉

Weather conditions demanded top-tier adaptation and ham spirit: due to fierce winds right by the riverbank, Sylvester had to pull back his station by 50 meters into the thick vegetation, using a small hill as a natural windbreak. Even though the antenna mast guy-wires were accidentally left at home, sheer resourcefulness and field experience saved the day, allowing him to raise the mast and secure a whopping 119 QSOs! 🌴💨

Special kudos go out to Alex for the stellar technical support and for recovering the initial contacts in the logbook (including the first Indonesian station), which were very close to being lost forever due to an accidental cursor slip on the laptop keyboard. 💻🛠️

🏁 CONCLUSION AND AMATEUR RADIO SALUTI 🏁

This ATNO (All Time New One) activation for the Delta 021 reference will go down in World Beauties Award history. Despite some heavy-handed behavior from a few “all-watts-no-ears” stations during intense pile-up peaks, the absolute dedication and sharp operating skills of Sylvester 161DA135 turned a field day into an international triumph. Gajkowska Island has officially been broadcasted to the whole world! 🏆🌊

Situated right along the majestic Oder (Odra) River, just east of Wrocław, this specific area is a true ecological sanctuary. This activation is deeply meaningful as it highlights the strict connection between radio communications and environmental preservation. Operating from a vital Natura 2000 protected zone, our signals will carry the voice of a dynamic ecosystem made of dense riparian forests, shifting sands, and secret nesting grounds for rare river birds. 🦅🌊
