OFFICIAL DIX-PEDITION ACTIVATION REPORT
WBA Reference: 161DA/FF0132 — Ślężański Park Krajobrazowy
- Operator: Sylwester (161DA135)
- Activation Type: Double session (commute to/from work)
- Operational Altitude: Approx. 250 meters a.s.l. (from the park’s parking lot)
- Weather: Excellent conditions, very hot, clear skies
- Logistics: Outdoor radio station set up on local benches, immersed in dense protective vegetation
📊 STATISTICAL LOG ANALYSIS
An accurate analysis of the log file reveals the following numerical and performance data:
1. QSO Volume and Efficiency
- Total valid QSOs logged: 166
- Overall duration of activity: 3 hours and 50 minutes
- Operations start: 12:09 UTC (14:09 local time)
- Operations end: 15:59 UTC (17:59 local time)
- Average QSO/Hour ratio: ~43.3 contacts per hour
- Traffic peak (Rate): Reached between 12:12 UTC and 12:20 UTC with an impressive 14 contacts in just 8 minutes (equivalent to a pace of over 100 QSOs/hour during full pile-up).
2. Propagation and Signal Reports (RST) Analysis
The exchanged signal reports fully confirm the operator’s notes regarding excellent and extremely robust propagation:
- 5/9 Reports received: The vast majority of connected stations (over 85%) came through with a maximum signal of 5/9 or higher (with several notes of “5/9+” confirming ideal band openings).
- Presence of QSB (Fading): A physiological or selective drop was found only at rare, isolated moments (e.g., progressives 65 and 109), where signals dropped to 5/5 or were accompanied by notes of heavy QSB, without however compromising the overall stability of the activation.
3. International Geographical Distribution (Main Prefixes)
The activation generated strong international interest, capturing hunters from all over Europe thanks to the stability of the ionospheric opening:
- Division 14 (France): By far the most present nation in the log, testifying to a constant and very strong path with Western Europe.
- Division 26 (England / UK): Very high density of stations connected during the central hours of the afternoon.
- Other Divisions connected: Excellent presence of stations from divisions 1 (Italy), 3 (USA / Eastern Europe depending on the specific callsigns), 13 (Germany), 30 (Spain), 108 (Scotland), all the way to more distant or rarer stations such as division 153 (Thailand) and 205 (Cape Verde), proving a truly widespread reach.
📝 SALIENT OPERATIONAL NOTES
- Friends and Historical Stations: The log highlights the participation of historical operators from the Delta-Alfa club and many elite hunters from the WBA / World Flora & Fauna circuit (e.g., operators Fabian, Udo, Bernard, Michel, Chris), who promptly responded to Sylwester’s call.
- Time Management: Although operations were intentionally halted at 15:59 UTC to allow the operator to attend his afternoon/evening work shift, the pace never slowed down, maintaining a tight rhythm until the very last useful QSO with station 26OG4 (Op. Dan).
🏆 ACTIVATION CONCLUSION
The activation of reference WBA 161DA/FF0132 can be declared an outstanding and flawless success.
Logging 166 QSOs in less than four hours of total radio activity — while operating portable from a parking lot, managing the logistical stress of work commitments, and enduring hot weather — is direct proof of the immense dedication and technical skills of operator Sylwester (161DA135).
The choice of location (despite being screened by vegetation), the excellent timing in catching the wide propagation openings, and the constant support of the large community of “old friends” on the air turned this double “commute-to-work” session into one of the most prolific and exciting activations of the year for the World Beauties Award circuit.

🌲📻 Portable Operation Immersed in the Deep Green 🍃✨
Attention all hunters and chasers! 📢 Sylvester is packing up the gear, wrapping up the coax, and heading into the wild heart of the Lower Silesian region. He will set up a completely portable station (QRP/Portable), totally immersed in the lush, green embrace of the Ślężański Landscape Park.
Operating far away from urban QRM (man-made noise), this station will offer crystal-clear signals carrying the very essence of the Slesian wilderness. Operating from the green fields and ancient forests means establishing a direct connection between modern radio technology and the raw power of nature. 🌳📡🔌
🗿☀️ Blending Radio Waves with Prehistoric Mysteries & Pagan Cults 🪨🔮
This activation holds a profound spiritual and historical meaning. The Mount Ślęża Massif (718m a.s.l.) rises majestically for over 500 meters above the surrounding flat plains, standing like a giant natural monument visible from miles away.
Since the Bronze Age, this precise mountain was the most important pagan solar cult center for local ancient tribes. As Sylvester’s RF signals propagate through the atmosphere, they will bounce past millenary stone cult sculptures—such as the famous “Bear”, the “Fish”, and the “Monk”, all carved with mysterious diagonal crosses.
By placing our portable station right in this context, the World Beauties Award bridges ancient human history with modern global communications:
- In the past: Ancient civilizations used sacred stones and solar alignments to connect with the cosmos. 🧲🪐
- Today: We use antennas, frequencies, and ionospheric propagation to connect minds and hearts across continents! 🗺️🎙️🤝
⛰️🌸 Protecting Nature & Geomorphology 🌿🐾
The activation will respect and promote the incredible biodiversity of the park. Surrounded by rare gabbro and serpentinite rock formations, the park hosts unique microclimates and strictly protected reserves (such as Góra Ślęża, Góra Radunia, and the wet meadows of Łąka Sulistrowicka). Operating in full compliance with “Leave No Trace” ethics, Sylvester will bring the voice of this rare, pristine ecosystem directly into your shacks! 🎧🏡
