The Royal Villa of Monza is a neoclassical palace built in Monza during the Austrian domination of the 18th century and designed by Giuseppe Piermarini as a private residence of the Habsburg-Lorraine. Under the Napoleonic Kingdom of Italy, at the behest of the viceroy Eugene de Beauharnais, it assumed the function of royal residence, which it then maintained with the unified Kingdom of Italy, until the rulers of the House of Savoy ceased to live there at the beginning of the 20th century.It hosts exhibitions, displays and in one wing also the art school of Monza. http://www.reggiadimonza.it/
