📡 Activation Report: The Magnetic Aura of the Santa Cristina Well Temple
165DA/AP005 Today was a truly immersive experience. I had the honor of activating an archaeological park that houses a unique monument in the world: the Santa Cristina Holy Well 🏺.
We were privileged to set up our field station within the park’s grounds in a dedicated area. It was a pleasure to observe the curious looks of the tourists 🤳 who, as they began their visit, wondered what I was doing with those “funny” headphones and a microphone 🎧.
🏛️ The Site: A Masterpiece of Nuragic Engineering
The park is not just a suggestive backdrop, but an incredible example of millennial precision. The Holy Well, dating back to the 12th century BC, is famous for its isodomic masonry: the basalt blocks are carved with millimetric precision, creating a geometric structure so perfect it appears almost modern 📐.
In addition to the well, the site hosts:
A vast Nuragic village 🛖
A Christian area featuring typical “cumbessias” (pilgrim lodgings).
A temporal bridge between different eras ⏳.
The sense of mysticism is palpable, especially considering the astronomical phenomena linked to the solstices and lunar cycles integrated into the structure 🌙✨.
📊 Technical Results and Propagation
The activation was highly successful, aided by the site’s unique location:
QSOs: 155 🎙️
Countries worked: 27 🌍
Continents: 5 🖐️
Altitude: approx. 200m a.s.l. 🏔️
Propagation was surprising; we recorded an unusual opening toward Argentina and South America 🇦🇷 much earlier than expected. The only missing piece today was Oceania; unfortunately, we didn’t hear any signals from that region 🚫🇦🇺. On the plus side, we operated with a total absence of QRM, a true luxury for any radio operator 🤫.

The Santa Cristina Archaeological Site in Paulilatino is one of Sardinia’s most mystical locations, representing a masterpiece of Nuragic architecture where sacred rituals meet advanced engineering.The highlight of the complex is the famous sacred well, dedicated to the cult of water. Built around the 12th century BC, it is renowned for the mathematical precision of its basalt blocks, arranged in a reverse “tholos” shape that creates perfect geometric lines.
