The Visconti Castle of Legnano is an ancient military structure from the Middle Ages built by the Torriani in the 13th century, using the territory of a small island that divides the flow of the Olona River. The fortification became the official residence of the Visconti family for two centuries, and then passed to the Lampugnani family. Sold to the Cornaggia family in the 18th century, it was maintained until the 1970s and sold to the Municipality. The water of the river surrounds the Castle and its flow has accompanied all the historical events experienced over the centuries. Water therefore as a narration of nature but also of human events.
