I am very happy to announce my next IOTA DX Adventure in the small island of Su Cardolinu. In the last few days I made a survey and it is the right time to activate it, also because there is low tide and therefore the possibility of reaching it on foot via a gravel strip. The weather forecast for Saturday 22 March promises well and that is why I will gladly go there. I assure you that the place is enchanting and the context where this small island is located is truly heavenly. A 40-minute drive from Cagliari is Chia, a seaside resort in the municipality of Domus de Maria. Crystal clear sea, blue and emerald green water, white sand and rocky promontories: a dream landscape in the southernmost part of Sardinia.
Starting from the east, you immediately find the islet of Su Cardulinu (the Mushroom) or Isula Manna, which can sometimes be reached on foot when the tide is low.
On the islet of su Cardolinu, located in front of the eastern coast of the promontory, you can see the remains of a shrine, an altar and a Punic-style aedicule, identified in the 1960s during a surface search coordinated by the CNR with the support of the Superintendency. Funerary urns inside a lithic cist were also found on the islet, which suggest the presence of a tophet.
