… Dear Philippe, Now that we know that your wife (unit 142) is of Sardinian origin (San Vito) we understand even better how much you like to connect our activations in 165! We thank you for your perseverance and your commitment! We meet Philippe, a very correct and friendly radio operator, until now often present almost an every on air appointment with SBA! Philippe transmits from the city of Douai, located in Departement 59 North West of France. Here is his self presentation:

SIBA TEAM: Tell us how your passion for radio and 11 meters was born, and how you set up your current station:

I started radio in the 1990s, mainly in mobile divisions (16, 19, 54, 15, 1, 30, 31, and 165).Through this activity, I met many people, including several RAs.Thanks to these encounters, I’ve had an F callsign since 1993.But my professional activity and life have kept me QRT for 20 years.I returned to radio in November 2022, devoting a lot of time to all bands. To date, I have 183 confirmed divisions on the 11 m in 35 years, “and in the last 2.5 years, I’ve contacted 290 divisions and confirmed 257 with my F.”

My Equipment are TX, FTdx 10, FT847, and 3-element Delta-Loop antennas, Hexbeam, Quads, and several wire antennasMy Amplifiers: For my F ACOM 700, for the 11m a B300P.

SIBA TEAM: What sacrifices does a hunter as diligent and dedicated as you have to make?

I don’t make any sacrifices, it’s a passion.

SIBA TEAM: What aspects make the Sardinian Italian Beauties Award interesting, in your opinion?

My wife (142) is originally from Sardinia (San Vito), and I love this island very much (I hope to return there as soon as possible).On the one hand, the activator is very friendly.
