We meet Georgette 14AT075, a very friendly and energetic radio operator, until now often present at every on air appointment with SBA! Georgette transmits from the city of Rocquancourt, Basse Normandie in North West France, and therefore QSOs with SBA activations from division 165 are not so obvious. In fact, most of our connections occur in BackScatter with points towards the west, except in summertime, when Short Path propagation opens often to west France. Let’s also take into account that Georgette has a particularly ringing voice and makes herself heard even in the most difficult conditions!
SBA TEAM: Georgette, tell us a little about yourself and what you particularly appreciate about SBA?
“I find SBA wonderful and magnificent, with Alessandro’s activations with his little mascot Giacomino.
Alex is a treasure and I hope he continues to do portable activations, I love him, he is a sweetheart Alex, always kind with the YL.
I discovered the radio in 1985 after my son-in-law had a serious accident and needed assistance. I then started using my husband Roger’s radio since he unfortunately could no longer make qsos. I left the CB band in AM because there were unfortunately many QSOs with insignificant content.
I then started using 11 meters in SSB with my former callsigns 14AR4418 and 14AM35 and then became AT in 2002 with units 596 and then 114. Currently I have the 075. I really like the Awards and Contests, I love trophies and cups and often with satisfaction I manage to reach the top places in the rankings.
I find Alex’s activations wonderful with which he makes us discover his beautiful country Sardinia with his videos of the sites he activates. Congratulations again and a kiss from Georgette.“.
