Two hundred years after the last toll, in 2018 the bells started ringing again in Monte Cresia. The small country church of San Giovanni del Bosco, immersed in the enchanting scenery of the hill above Sorradile, 400 meters above sea level. Construction of the building began in 1933 on a 1570 structure demolished in the nineteenth century.
The incomplete work, now reduced to ruins, was taken up and completed by the municipal administration with budget funds. Furthermore, the structure, until yesterday, was the missing piece of the so-called “Iinerary of the spirit” traced between the three rural novenaries of the district, which also include the churches of Santa Maria Turrana and San Nicola, which in the municipality’s plans will have to become an attractor of religious tourism.
